This year for many people is the year of the staycation – with all sorts of problems with foreign travel at the moment due to the pandemic, staying in the UK feels like a safer bet. With so many places to see and so much beautiful countryside to explore in the UK, staying in the country is a great way to enjoy a holiday.

One of the most beautiful locations to soak up some peace and quiet and natural relaxation is Wilshire – famous for its beautiful countryside and historic buildings there are lots of things to do in Salisbury for the whole family including of course a visit to the beautiful cathedral.

If you are heading to Wiltshire and want to enjoy some of the walking routes and stunning countryside scenery, here are a few great places to enjoy a walk…

The Westbury White Horse – This is a landmark in Wiltshire, a huge white horse carved into the hillside. As well as the views to the white horse it is only a short walk to an Iron age fort, Bratton Camp.

The West Wiltshire Downs – This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and you will be able to see views over the beautiful countryside, as well as pretty villages where time has stood still.

Shearwater Lake – Head to the gorgeous Longleat estate and take a walk around the tranquil and beautiful Shearwater lake.
