Working in an office environment can be testing at times, particularly if you find yourself in a large open plan space. There are some things that you can do as an employer to help make office working a little less stressful.

Layout – it is important to think about the layout of your office so that your employees feel comfortable and are not fighting over each other’s voices to be heard. Open plan layouts were once popular but more and more businesses are seeing the pitfalls of this kind of working. If you have a sales team on the phones all day long working next to a creative team or finance team that needs to concentrate closely on their work then you should opt away from open plan working and instead look at creating small office areas for each of your departments and teams.

Reception area – having a nice calm reception area is the key to creating a welcoming environment for your customers. It also helps your employees to feel calm as they walk through the door first thing in the morning. You should ensure that you have a reception desk and Reception Chairs like the ones from Best Buy Office Chairs to add to the area and some nice art work on the walls. Some offices also like to add indoor plants to reception spaces as they provide clean air and take away some of the toxins from the environment around them.
