Exploring Eton and the Surrounding Area

Eton is a Berkshire town, most famous for the prestigious boy’s school – but there is a lot to explore in and around the area if you are looking for a visit to see some history and a change of scene.

In Eton itself, there are some fantastic unique shops to explore as well as great places to eat out, such as the Christopher restaurant Eton. Take a walk along the river and see the boats moored up.

As well as this you can visit the Eton college natural history museum – this is a celebration of Sir Joseph Banks and the HMS Endeavour, as well as all of his exotic discoveries from his trip.

From Eton you can walk over the bridge across the river and into Windsor – the home of the famous Royal Residence, Windsor Castle.  You can tour this stunning building and grounds and take in all the sights here. If you like gorgeous buildings and history, you are also close to Frogmore house and gardens. There are fantastic gardens to enjoy, as well as the burial places of members of the royal family such as the mother of Queen Victoria.

If you have kids, of course you should pay a visit to Legoland Windsor – this fun Lego themed park is suitable for kids of all ages ad there is something there for everyone, whether you are a thrill seeker of prefer something a little more sedate!
